The Cardiology research laboratory
A basic research driven by clinical challenges
We research the function and structure of the cardiovascular system in sickness and health. We are executing a translational research, i.e. modeling a clinical scenario in the laboratory, studying it and aiming at retrieving a possible explanation and/or an effective treatment (Bedside to Bench and Back). The studies in our facility extend from the animal’s physiology to the molecular level. Currently we are focusing on three main topics: A. Treatments of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), B. The efficacy of therapeutic ultrasound (TUS), C. Assessing in vivo new anti-hypertensive drug in a rat model.
